Marvel/SNK/Tatsunoko/Whatever else characters.... fighting Capcom characters...

Marvel vs Capcom 3 is coming out soon, so that's pretty awesome.

Talk about the games here.

Awwww, I got my post deleted...

Fine, I saw a few youtube videos and it seems interesting. I'd still rather play street fighter on the arcade machine that my laundry mat has. Srsly, I kick ass on that thing, just ask the spanish guys that hang around there. Too bad they don't bet anymore, I barely ever had to bring my quarters in...

It just said "Hi." and you didn't expect it deleted?...

Also you do realize in essence Vs. Capcom games are just Street Fighter with more characters right?..

Not so good of a comparison, Leangle... it's more so DarkStalkers with different characters. Well, except for SNK vs Capcom.

As for the others, they're mostly DarkStalkers because it's much faster paced and relies on combos more than finding openings. They're similar, yeah, it's just that DarkStalkers is more like it.

I dunno... TvC felt like SF to me.. I guess because I haven't actually played any DarkStalkers (Let me guess... Blasphemy?)

Blasphemy? How the heck would I expect any one to play Darkstalkers? I only ever found an arcade machine of it on a boat.

I don't really think TvC/MvC plays like Street Fighter at all, especially considering that jumping is very important in them.

There aren't any console versions?

I dunno.. Maybe I found it similar because the only SF I've played is SSF2 (the original SNES version on emulators) and store demos of 3 (PS2 version on the PS3 machine a couple weeks before 4 came out) and 4 (360 and PS3 but still just store demos)

There are... just kind of old. It's easier to play them on MAME or a PSP.

So... you've played all main Street Fighters... You haven't noticed that you stick to the ground and rack up damage by finding openings? While in TvC you can launch your opponent into the air and chain combos from there?

The essence of the games is the same, even if some of the specifics are different. I agree with Leangle that TvC plays a lot like Street Fighter with different characters.

That... could be said for any 2D fighting game.

If you've played DarkStalkers, you can definitely feel it's more similar to the Vs games than Street Fighter.
